TRUMP: GOODBYE IRAN, HELLO U.K.

Furthering Trump’s isolationist policy, it was announced a short while ago that Trump officially was removing America from the Iranian Nuclear Deal. The deal, originally signed by Britain, Germany, China, Russia, and France intended to restrict Iran’s development of a militaristic nuclear arms programme that western evidence had found was being used to fund civil war conflicts in the Middle Eastern region and terrorist groups. Trump’s response being that it hasn’t worked and never will.

Previous international economic sanctions were followed by a trade embargo which before 2015, crippled Iran’s fragile economy, limiting prosperity and growth resulting in £118bn loss in oil revenue. The Nuclear Deal would lead to a stronger economy, since with a promise to restrict its nuclear arms strategy plan, Iran gained oversees aid to support its financial state and access to the global trade system. Trump has repeatedly claimed that the deal has failed and is adamant that Iran is developing nuclear arms behind the deal, he has announced further economic sanctions on Iran’s trade and an end to financial aid.

The removal could potentially lead to the development of a nuclear arms race and for Iran to develop a nuclear missile worthy of serious corruptible profit to countries such as Egypt. Trump has no desire to re-negotiate and in many respects has damaged relations with his closest Western Allies who have all agreed to remain part of the deal. With the looming effect of Brexit, it is interesting to ask how much closer America walking away could bring the remaining European Allies to leaving too. Tehran is holding hope with the other signatories to hold to the deal and continue supporting them.

So as Trump says good bye to another Obama legacy, it is likely, Trump will say hello on Friday 13th July 2018 to us Britons. Preparing for his informal UK State visit, Trump will probably be welcomed with little respect on his stay over. The UK has seen that Trump’s style of politics is a fucking disgrace and so it is very likely there will be protests on the day of his visit. Trump was due to visit in January 2018, but says he is awaiting a welcoming. He could be awaiting a very long time…
